Support Your Pregnancy With Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a safe, gentle and effective modality to alleviate common discomforts during pregnancy.

During your first trimester, acupuncture can alleviate morning sickness, alleviate fatigue, improve energy and reduce headaches and body aches.

As your pregnancy progresses, it is very useful to reduce GERD, edema and back pain. Massage is an excellent modality during the second and third trimesters.  It is important to work with a therapist trained specifically in prenatal care

Women often experience unpleasant body heat and swelling during the later stages of pregnancy. Acupuncture works very quickly to reduce heat and swelling, providing much greater comfort and more restful nights.

For breech positioning, we use a well-researched protocol that can relax the uterine walls.  Some babies will instinctively move their heads downwards while others choose to stay in their comfort zones.  This protocol needs to be started prior to week 37, before baby grows too large to make the move independently.  Research shows that patients with breech presentation who receive acupuncture and moxibustion have a lower rate of C-Sections.
