Heidi Alexander, MSTCM, LAc, Dipl OM

Heidi Alexander is a licensed acupuncturist with 21 years in the field. She works with all forms of pain and injuries throughout the body. Her women's health experience includes infertility, PMS, cysts, uterine fibroids, menorrhagia, interstitial cystitis as well as symptoms associated with menopause. She works with all forms of mood disorders including anxiety, PTSD, chronic stress and depression.

 

Heidi attended San Francisco's American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  This four-year program consisted of 2,926 hours of education including 990 hours of clinical practice and specialized training in herbal medicine. 

She has undergone extensive training with Matt Callison, the world's leading expert in motor point therapy for the treatment of sports injuries.  She has received training from the top women’s health experts in her field including Sharon Weizenbaum, Randine Lewis, Jane Lyttleton and Debra Betts.  Heidi studied with Dr. Lifang Liang, a leading expert in acupuncture, fertility and IVF. In 2003, she assisted Dr. Liang in writing and editing Acupuncture & IVF, one of the first U.S. books published on the subject.   

Before relocating to Mt Pleasant SC, Heidi owned a thriving acupuncture practice in Denver CO. She served as a Clinical Instructor for the Department of Medicine at the University Hospital of Colorado and was a provider for Denver Options' Traumatic Brain Injury program. She was an adjunct acupuncture provider for Conceptions Reproductive Associates, helping women through IVF and IUI. 

 

Pam Heaton, Matt Callison, and Sharon Weizenbaum are among most influential teachers.  Since 2003, she has provided more than 30,000 treatments.
